LOW BACK PAIN
Low back pain is the most common condition treated at a typical chiropractic office. There are multiple causes of low back pain. Not all episodes of low back pain occur with big accidents or traumas, sometimes its repetitive motions during activities of daily living that can cause severe low back pain. Some people notice low back pain or symptoms after bending over to tie their shoe, or pickup their dog. Commonly it’s prolonged sitting or driving, bending and twisting movements or getting up from a seated position too fast. For episodes of low back pain it is important to get properly assessed and examined as not all cases are the same or require the same treatment.
Treatment typically consist of a chiropractic adjustment or spinal manipulation, as it has been shown to be very effective in the treatment of low back pain. In addition, manual therapy in the form of myofascial release such as Active Release Technique will help with muscle spasms and tightness. Stretches, exercises, and specifically targeted rehabilitation is given on a case by case basis. Each case is different, and each persons capacity and abilities is different, therefore individualized plans are important.
