Knee pain can present commonly on the underside of the knee cap or patella, or on the inside of the knee. There are a variety of conditions that can cause pain around the knee including quadriceps tendinopathy, Patellofemoral pain, Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITB Syndrome), Jumper’s knee, Bursitis, in addition to sprains of the collateral or cruciate ligaments or either meniscus.

Treatment typically consists of a proper assessment into the root cause of the signs and symptoms. Knee pain responds well to soft tissue therapy such as Active Release Technique® and targeted rehabilitation and corrective exercises. Dr. Damir Simunac at Active Health Spine & Sport is certified in Active Release Technique® Lower Extremity for soft tissue therapy and in Functional Range Conditioning® for rehabilitation.
